Overview
The award winning lodge is located 40 km northeast of Banff National Park, just 1/2 hour from the Icefields Parkway and Saskatchewan River Crossing. Situated in the eastern front ranges of the Rocky Mountains at an elevation of 1,350 m (4,500 ft) the eco lodge is accessible year-round via the David Thompson Highway or the Icefield Parkway, two of Alberta's most scenic routes. A secluded location, spectacular views and comfortable rooms make this your ideal base for exploring the Alberta foothills and the portion of Banff and Jasper National Parks between Bow Pass and the Columbia Icefield. The lodge is a wilderness retreat for nature lovers, who wish to unwind in a pristine setting or engage in outdoor activities in the region.

A multitude of low-impact, outdoor activities await the visitor and natural, historic and cultural attractions abound in this little known valley of the Rocky Mountains. Cultural and historic attractions include Nordegg (historic coal mine and National Historic Site), pioneer cabins and native sites. The Bighorn Dam is nearby, and Jasper/Banff National Parks are within easy driving distance. Come experience the wonders of winter in Alberta’s pristine treasure, also called Bighorn Country. Enjoy a full day of guided outdoor adventure: hike, snow-shoe or x-country ski in a region rich in human history. Afterwards relax in the comfort and seclusion the lodge. Ideal for all those, who are wary about venturing out under winter conditions.

Accommodation
Picture windows, bright rooms, the generous use of local woods combined with European style furnishing and artifacts from six continents account for the one of a kind ambiance in the lodge. Rooms are designed for double occupancy and each one is different yet cozy and inviting, as are the many common areas throughout the lodge. The rooms feature a king/double size log beds with orthopaedic health mattresses, down duvets and private baths with shower. Upgrades to superior rooms, suites and cottages are available on request. In keeping with the small size of the establishment, service is personal. Healthy, home-style evening meals prepared by your hosts are a true delight.
